Configuration Options

overview

The file pwiki/pwikicfg.phl contains some configurable variables (the area is marked with comments). Be carefull how you tweak these values.

The interesting configuration options are;

  • $publicview
0=off,1=on. Turning on publicview allows you to have a different template for those who would edit and those who would only view the wiki.
  • $publiccomments
0=off,1=on. Turning on public comments will allow anyone to post comments about a topic. Turning it off only allows editors to make comments.
  • $autolinks
0=off,1=on. Turning off autolinks defeats the purpose of wikiness, but it can be usefull once a document is cast in stone to get rid of unwanted links.
  • $notextmsg
This string is what shows if there is no text file to parse (ie. new page).
  • $maxuploadsize
This number is the largest size allowed for file and image uploads.
  • $bodycolor
This is the color used in the default templates for the main body of the wiki pages.
  • $tablecolor
This is the color used in the default templates for the head and side bars.
  • $locale
For localization use your 2 letter ISO code if there is a translation(en=english, fr=french, etc).
  • $fastbrowse
If you wish to use page caching, change this to a 1. This will make browsing the site much faster under load, but it will break dynamic wiki tags like insertlinks and slashdot. Using a mix of http:// and https:// will also confuse fastbrowse.
  • $gzip_encoding
Set this if you use php4.0.1 or greater and wish to gzip encode your pages for faster downloads on slow links. This option also requires zlib support.
  • $mixedcaps
Set this to 1 if you use MixedCaps autolinks.
